Thanksgiving 2013

We went rogue for Thanksgiving this year...the menu was surf and turf: Steak, salmon, shrimp. 

Of course, there was some traditional Thanksgiving food, like mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. 

It was a small crowd this year, just us and Oma and Papa. 

This year, we are thankful for:

Husbands who don't complain. Boys who make me launch, even if it's inappropriate. Families who just show up (and steal chips from the pantry.)

Toilets. Dryer lint. Clumping cat litter. Geese that don't poop. Squirrels. 

Fresh air. Sun. Rain. Clouds. Moon. All kind of nature, including black-capped chickadees.

Birds. Squirrels. Cameras. Iproducts. Garbage trucks. Rocks. Everything else!

Sporting KC. KC Chiefs. B-52s. Wheathawks!

Friday we headed to the Great Wolf Lodge, just like last year. The boys were excited that we didn't have to spend time furniture shopping this time.

Oak Park 2013

It's our annual "walk around Oak Park." It was a super sunny day.

Pumpkin Patch

It's Walter's Pumpkin Patch...again. (see our other posts from Walter's: 2009, 2011)

This year we went with our super fun neighbors, Jaelynn and Griffin.

We mined for gold.

Ran in the human hamster wheel.

Rode the zip line.

Slid down the tunnels.

Tested our strength.

Hunted for pumpkins.

Got lost in the corn maze.

On the way home, we stopped at Braum's for dinner. Adam ordered a peppermint malt. We were driving and he thought he had lost a tooth. It ended up being a piece of peppermint that he thought was a tooth!

And Zach mis pronounced the word "buttock" and had to explain what it was. "You know, if you cut your bottom in half!"
