Ski Trip 2015

Just the highlights...

Leaving. First stop: Drop Ali off to be boarded...

After six years of driving past it, we finally stopped at the Colorado border sign.

Spent the night in Denver this year. Here's a photo of two kids born in the 2000s trying to work a 1990s cordless phone. I had to step in with my expert knowledge of "ancient technology."

The high temperature was in the 60s this year. Instead of "are you warm enough?"... it was "are you cool enough?"

Scott and Marty...shorts weather.

Lunch in short sleeves. We ate at the new McCoy's Cafe, called Powder 8.

So sunny.

It took us 7 minutes 15 seconds to get down half the mountain. In 2012, it took us 42 minutes to go from the top to the bottom. Based on these two numbers, it appears we ski faster now. Or have less wipeouts.

We found a new path in Ghost Town.

No one had any equipment malfunctions this year (like we did last year).

Zach had an epic jump. I had a complete fail because my phone ran out of space just as he was jumping. Adam and Zach had a mid-air collision too.

Scott filled up our water bottles in the bathroom. The bathroom water is warm. The three of us threw a fit and he couldn't believe we wouldn't drink warm water. We obviously were not thirsty enough. That's true, and if we were lost in the mountains we WOULD drink the warm water, but we're not and there's perfectly nice cold water available. I filled up the bottles with cold water and Scott was not allowed to fill up water bottles the rest of the trip.

It snowed five inches one night. It was foggy the next morning.

We only did two greens this year.

Scott did "4 Get About It," his favorite black diamond. We found out that it's Shawna's neighbor's favorite run. The neighbor is 13 years old and says it's "pretty easy."

The boys asked if they could do a run by themselves. They are 11 and 12 years old. Definitely not. #AreYouCrazy

New terrain parks offered lots of opportunities for tricks.

This is looking down at the terrain park, from the top. I think that is Scott in the yellow and Adam closer to the top.

We ate pizza, Rueben sandwiches, Elk, Steak, Moe's Bar B Que, and Mexican. We also had lunch on the mountain that costs $90. *gasp*

We tried three new blue runs, Harrier,  Larkspur and Corkscrew. Had to abort on Corkscrew... definitely not a blue. This photo is of part of the Larkspur run. It wasn't all moguls.

Tried a new black, BuckBoard, and attempted more moguls.

Everyone can carry their own equipment with no whining. #winning

Coco the Dog (Shawna and Marty's dog) got into the trash at their house. Twice, I think. I'm not sure why we still talk about it, but the boys thought it was funny.

Jake (Shawna and Marty's four-year-old son) called Adam "Madam."

Two days I skipped out early while the boys did a couple more runs. I found something to entertain myself.

This is the seventh time the boys have been to Casa Bonita in Denver. This year there was a sign that said "Eat so much, Peso little." Zach thought is said "Eat so much, pee so little."

Outside Black Bart's hideout...again.

Half a Year After the Dog

It's Ali's seven month anniversary of us adopting her! In celebration, here are random photos we have taken since we got her.

Hanging out on the deck. Our neighbor's dog is NOT out, obviously.

 Chillin' with Legos.

She was so pitiful when we made her wear the "no bark" thing to obedience training.

Watches for the bus every day in Zach's room.

The clothes WERE clean.

Bath time.

This is one of my favorite pictures.

After she had eye surgery, she had to wear the cone.

With all the boys.

 At Oak Park with Adam.

Love the head tilt...on both of them.

First road trip and half the time she was with me in the front seat.
